a big morale booster today at work. it's actually more funny, but the boost is there somewhere.
the kids, staff, and parents all took a survey about two months ago. today at 2, myself, richard and our school resource officer, officer gates, had a meeting with the high school principle, dr. garcia. he basically called us in to review the results of the surveys.
overall... the security team is doing really good. the percentages of positive responses out weighed the bad and they were really high. it was nice to know that the students, staff and parents thought we were doing a great job with keeping them safe.
anyway, that part was the morale booster, but the funny part i was referring to was the comments the students and staff made about us. here are a couple:
*note, these surveys were conducted at all grade levels, 7th thru 12th, and for the most part, all of the staff.
- i'm cool with them
- albert and richard own!
- they care about you and want to protect you
- i like christine, she is really nice and awesome (2 ppl said that... too bad they called me christine)
- the security is awesome and helpful. christina, albert and rickard rock! (at least my name wasn't the only one butchered this time).
- security is great, even just to talk to
- they are cool headed and nice with problems
- they help you find stuff
- i like the security staff. albert and richard are nice and the new girl is awesome.
- all of our security guards are very nice, especially the new one - christine
- they are so kind and still get the job done (are we suppose to be mean?)
- the security staff is by far the nicest people at this school. they are always kind and helpful (haha, wat about the teachers?)
- they're chill! (again, 2 ppl)
- albert and richard are tight! "ariba las chivas"
- albert is nice. richard is funny and christina is very chill
- if they are friendly, helpful and understanding (i dunno why it says 'if')
- they're chill especially christina
so i don't know if 'chill' is a good thing or a bad thing... i'm hoping it's a good thing... but hey, i'm chill. too bad some of the kids still think my name is christine... hahaha. okay, that's all... just wanted to share.

i think chill translates into cool in high school terms. i'm going to call you that from now on - chill - or ice. because ice makes it chilly. never mind.
