School started today. It felt kinda like high school, cause I had three back-to-back classes and I was home before 2:30. =)
So it turns out that Octopus doNOT have black blood. Meaning that the fact or crap question from yesterday was crap! Although it is somewhat believable cause of "Finding Nemo" and Nemo's friend inking out black... hm, now that I think of it, that wasn't blood... she said it was ink. And anyway...
CRAP: Octopus blood contains hemocyanin, rather than hemoglobin, which makes it a bluish-green color. The hemocyanin does not bond well with oxygen, which causes octopi to become exhausted quickly and confines them to a relatively sedentary lifestyle.
Cool huh? It sounds really nerdy actually, but yet informative at the same time. The one for today is "Nine stars make up the Big Dipper." FACT or CRAP? I think there's only 7 stars that make it up, but I'm probably wrong cause these constellations are always shaped weird and have extra stars that you didn't know was part of it. I could always cheat though and look in my astronomy book... ::ahem... geek:: yea yea... fine... I was just kidding... I guess I'll find out tomorrow.
