i haven't posted in a quite a while. i used the benefit concert as an excuse to why i haven't been blogging but that's not really the case. but anyway... the benefit concert was on friday. it was so AWESOME!!! everything fell into place, and i just want to say thank you to everyone that helped out for that night, especially the big guy from above. +BiL. we ate out at IHOP afterwards, our tradition after every big liwanag event, and just sat and talked, and ate with each other... i liked it... after IHOP, reg, em, shelby, maxine [they slept over], and jason came over and we watched the video from the concert, fun stuff! {note to self: stay away from the camera! haha, i hate seeing myself on tv} ... i ended up going to sleep at 3am, and i still needed to drive home to san diego that morning.
so i woke later than i had expected. my mom wanted me to come home to drive her to this thing in del mar. she didn't really ellaborate on what we were going to, but she just said that i needed to drive her. so before i left irvine, i emptyed my car of all the stuff from the night before and headed out for the hour and a half trip back to san diego. the drive was fun, filled with thoughts of the benefit concert, of liwanag, of trying to keeping myself awake, and of things that i've gone through just in this past week. ::sigh:: a lot of letting go, and allowing myself to open up a little, even if just to one person. [thank you thank you!!! you know who you are ;)] man!!! if only...
so i got home and our christmas decorations were already up! it's so festive our freakin' house... and it's hella cute! there's reindeers on the roof, lights on the tall trees outside, chritmas pillows no the couches, stockings in front of the fire place, and in one corner of the daycare room was where they put the tree, and above it were stockings with the daycare kids names on them. it made me smile... and my dad for some reason is on a "remote control" mode, cause to turn on the lights for the christmas tree you need a remote, and another remote for the lights outside too... my dad's weird.
i was at home for like 45 minutes, enough to eat and bring my stuff down from my car, and then we left for del mar. it was only when we got to the entrance of where we were going to did i find out what the heck this event was called! it was the filipino-american convention & exposition. it was reallly cool... i never even knew that we had something like that. there were a bunch of fiilpino booths set up, and some that weren't... it was fun though, kinda reminded me of welcome week, er, but not really like it... haha! so me and my younger sister walked around, got some free stuff, bought a t-shirt, and watched some of the performances. my younger sis even got an autograph and picture with lalaine (the girl that plays miranda on "lizzy maguire." i didn't know she was mistisa till yesterday! and i'm kinda sad now that the show is cancelled cause that was a good show... yea, i admit, i watch the disney channel!) but yea, that expo was long and i was hella tired from the night before, so i went back to my car and fell asleep for like a half hour, went back inside and just wondered for a little longer till my said we were leaving.
when we got home i ate again and watched the santa clause 2 (funny movie, but forrealz, it was so unrealistic... haha, but i can't complain) i did attempt after that movie to watch drop dead gorgeous, but fell asleep on it. oh hey, if any of you that are reading this, and want to have a movie night, dude, just let me know, my dad goes dvd crazy and we have a bunch of movies here at my house... they're numbered too and organized in a list in a binder next to our tv... i'm serious! my dad's a little [er, not even 'little'] anal like that.
and that's pretty much it... after i fell asleep on drop dead gorgeous, the night went by and i woke the following morning to being really cold... like i am right now. but it's fun being home... my family, although i hardly say it, is pretty cool... in our own dysfunctional way haha... but cool non the less... man... here's to the memories... peace out!
man... if only... ::sigh::
